Women inspiring one other to dare.
Brigitte has never been an elite athlete, but sports have always been important to her. In fact, it was through sports that she met her partner, the man who shares her life, the father of her two sporty, active boys. He crossed her path for the first time during a softball game and the rest is history. Brigitte has always had a soft spot for team sports and today she continues to remain active in many different ways, not the least of which, by sponsoring the National Bank employee softball tournament for a number of years.
Physical activity brings much-needed balance to Brigitte's life. A committed professional and devoted mother, she allows herself the pleasure of walking every day, usually with her dog Maggie. It’s a short health break, but it gives her a chance to step back and reflect, to sharpen her mind so she can stay focused and present for everything that’s going on in her hectic life.
Naturally, Brigitte is a firm believer that sports can help young girls reach their full potential, develop greater self-confidence and, ultimately, live happier lives. She also believes it’s important for women to be inspired by one another so that together, they can all dare to do more and be more.
During her career, Brigitte experienced a number of moments where she had to step out of her comfort zone by accepting positions that didn’t always fit her background. And, on every occasion, those experiences helped her gain confidence, forced her to push her limits and rise to new professional challenges, like the ones she’s currently facing as Executive Vice-President of Employee Experience Management at the National Bank.
This year, Brigitte will be taking part in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge with her goddaughter, Livia. For her, it’s a great opportunity to spend some quality time with Livia, and a chance to foster good habits so that she too can benefit from the many benefits of sports and physical activity.
