Standing tall
Alongside her work in communications, playing sports is one of Mélanie’s greatest passions. She and her daughter, Lili-Rose, make fitness a central part of their lives. She sees regular exercise as a source of energy, balance, self-esteem and joy.
During adolescence, Mélanie joined a basketball team, in part because she was tall. It was a life-changing decision. Playing basketball allowed her to see there were advantages to being tall as well as learn how to set goals for herself, develop a competitive spirit and take advantage of the opportunities her height afforded her.
15-year-old Lili-Rose follows in her mother’s footsteps; she plays for her high school volleyball team. The mother-daughter duo stay busy on weekends by playing sports, going for walks and working out. In winter, they enjoy both downhill and cross-country skiing.
Mélanie is currently the Director of External Communications at Lowe’s Canada, a market leader in the sector of residential renovation, the organization contributes actively to many community initiatives. Before joining Lowe’s Canada, Mélanie held various key positions in large organizations such as Duchesnay, McKesson Canada, Pratt & Whitney Canada and Roche Diagnostics. Melanie is proud to have established a healthy balance for the important things in her life: family, career, friends, sports and fun. For a second year, Mélanie and Lili-Rose are excited to participate together in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge.
