Trust your intuition.
It all started with volleyball: one game and Geneviève knew she was hooked, playing competitively throughout her high-school years and then later in recreational leagues. And, while she doesn't play as regularly anymore, she still has a deep love for the sport, getting in a good match whenever and wherever she can. These days, you’re more likely to see her in a gym, practising cross-fit, her new activity of choice. This intense sport keeps her focussed on the present moment, something she turns to daily to keep her mind and body in perfect shape.
Geneviève also plays squash with her son. It’s a new passion and a great opportunity for them to share in wonderful mother-son moments. On the weekends, her daughters-in-law join the family at their chalet for fresh air and relaxation. Together, they walk in the forest, practice water sports or go snowshoeing in winter. And soon, Geneviève will be taking part in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge with her eldest daughter-in-law. It’s something new for both of them and that’s perfect; Geneviève is always looking for novel activities to get the family moving in ways that respect each person’s pace and style. To her, in sports as in life, the key to success is trusting your instincts and doing what you love.
Today, Geneviève is a Managing Partner for the Province of Quebec and the National Capital Region at Deloitte, where she’s worked for the past 22 years. She considers herself extremely fortunate to work with people she values, doing something she loves every day, and for that reason, it’s important for her to give back as much as she can to her community. To that end, she supports a number of organisations close to her heart, acting as Treasurer on the board of directors for the Center for Assistance to Victims of Criminal Acts (CAVAC) and contributing to the causes of mental and physical health, social equality, entrepreneurship, and others.
