Staying active to better manage anxiety
Karinne Bouchard has a demanding job that involves a lot of travel. Despite her busy schedule, she finds time to exercise three to four times a week. This helps her reduce stress and fosters her mental well-being. Without physical activity being a staple in her life, she does not think she would have accomplished all that she has.
Karinne decided to participate in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge because it supports a cause that she cares about. As a teenager, she didn’t prioritize physical activity and would have liked to have access to a program like FitSpirit to encourage her to take action. She therefore encourages her 13-year-old daughter Méhanne, who suffers from anxiety, to play sports and benefit from the mental and physical health benefits of exercise.
Proud to have managed to reconcile work and family, Karinne strives to dedicate a lot of time to her three children. To achieve this, she believes that one needs to be resourceful and have their priorities in order. Thus, despite her ambition, Karinne has always been careful not to be a workaholic to avoid 'missing out' on the childhood of her offspring.
Holder of a bachelor’s, a CPA certification and a Master’s degree in finance, Karinne is the Head of Investor Relations and Treasurer at Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. She also sits on the board of directors of the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation, which is dedicated to culture and intellectual disability.
