Total synergy between sports, family and career.
Anne Bouchard first put on a pair of skates and skis at the tender age of 2. You might say she was born with sports in her blood, but her real passion was figure skating. Then, as a teen, like so many other girls her age, she put sports on hold; her social life took over. So, it’s no surprise that she has a deep understanding of the challenges FitSpirit tackles daily through its mission. Thankfully, sports regained their hold on Anne at Cégep, where she’s discovered the thrill of rock climbing, whetting her appetite for adventure. She also became actively involved as an ocean lifeguard, an activity that blended her pressing need to be active with a heartfelt desire to help others.
Over the years, Anne has covered a lot of ground, both figuratively and literally. And today, she ranks as one of the top ultra-marathoners in Quebec, part of a group of elite athletes supported by The North Face. She’s a mother of two and Tax Director at Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. Sports are an essential part of Anne’s well-being and she integrates them into her life alongside her family and professional challenges, approaching each area of her life with passion and intensity.
To Anne’s mind, the only way to make it all work is by creating synergy between the important aspects of her life. It’s a daily challenge that nourishes Anne and demands her very best performance—something she’s happy to strive for because keeping it all in balance fills her with a deep sense of pride. This year, she’ll be taking part in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge with her 9-year-old, Charlotte, who’s also involved in competitive gymnastics. Anne chose to participate in this year’s challenge because she firmly believes in female energy and draws immense strength from the bond that sports help foster between a mother and her daughter.
