About team BRP

FitSpirit is pleased to present this team's leader as part of the 2022 edition of the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge:

Christine Babkine
Directrice, Responsabilité sociale d'entreprise

Generating positive social change for future generations

Throughout her childhood, Christine used the outdoors as a playground all year long, no matter the weather. She also spent a lot of time with the horses she loved in the stables. Put simply, sports were an integral part of her life, and they still are today. Although her ways of staying active have changed, today, she sees regular physical activity as a tool that provides countless benefits. Nevertheless, she does not feel guilty if she cannot do so for a certain period of time.

Christine has a philosophy of life that compels her to move toward positive change. She is driven by a deeply rooted desire to leave a positive legacy for future generations by working on several key initiatives.

In her role as head of corporate social responsibility, this committed leader is an expert in integrated approaches that leverage corporate business strategies to generate a positive impact for all. It is a proven way to create lasting value while improving the future for both her company and for the communities it serves.

One great example is the way she followed her vision during the development of the SAQ's social responsibility project in the early 2000s. She proposed a program that harnessed a network of branches and wine agencies to support specific charitable causes. By purchasing particular products, consumers could help raise money for Quebec's Food Banks. It's a program she's proud of, one that continues to generate positive results today.

Christine uses the same process to leverage her own physical activity to support the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge. And the reason is simple: she recognizes the many benefits of being active and hopes that by taking part in the Challenge, she can help young girls make the same realization in their lives. In doing so, they too can contribute to the positive circle of movement, growth, and change.

''Sport is a way for me to let off steam and change my mind, especially before school exams. Plus, it's a wonderful way to make new friends who share the same passions in a different circle.'' – Justine, 18 years old, Christine’s daughter
