About team Deloitte

FitSpirit is pleased to present this team's leader as part of the 2022 edition of the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge:

Christine Lavoie
Partner, Audit

A challenge that changes family dynamics

Christine has always been an active person, although she usually shied away from competition and traditional sports. As a young girl and later as a teenager, she tried a variety of activities like swimming, downhill skiing and cheerleading.

Then later in life, as her career in finance was really getting started, Christine found it hard to make room for sports and physical activity. Then, when her kids came along, it was even harder to find time for herself. It wasn’t until five or six years ago, when her daughters were a little older and Christine wanted to model a love of sports for them, that this passionate leader began to practice mountain biking, hiking and other activities on a more regular basis.

Before becoming a FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge leader, Christine was a member of Team Deloitte with her daughters. And while she didn’t see herself as a runner initially, the thought of getting back into it as a family really appealed to her, and she finally found her stride!

For the past three years, Christine has made running part of her life, and her daughters join in when they can. In fact, one of her girls is now part of a FitSpirit group school, where she receives regular encouragement to stay active with friends and family. Christine is grateful for the way the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge has changed the family dynamic, and today, they all get together regularly for some type of physical activity. It is no wonder Christine decided to take on a larger role in promoting the event this year.

"Being part of the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge has made us all realize how important it is to stay active, but more importantly how good it feels!" – Estelle (14) and Justine (11)

For the past four years, this open-minded and highly committed woman has been contributing to the Cercles d’enrichissement of the Association of Québec Women in Finance, sharing her experiences with other professionals, so they too can develop to their utmost potential!
