FitSpirit is pleased to present this team's leader as part of the 2022 edition of the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge:
Marline Côté
General Manager
On your marks, get set… Go!
In 2009, Marline was one of the few women in Québec to practice endurance trail running, with her first entry in the Vermont 50. In those days, that type of event was almost non-existent in Québec. Since then, it’s become a real passion for her, and she’s never stopped trail running, even throughout three pregnancies and a busy professional and personal life. Nothing gets between her and her sport of choice.Fuelled by that passion, Marline became an ambassador for trail running in Québec, working with others to raise awareness of the sport by helping organize events like the Polar Night Trail, the Harricana Ultra-Trail of Canada, the Winter Trail Coureur nordique and the Québec tour of the Trails in Motion film festival.
As a young girl, she was never particularly sporty, but today, sports and physical activity have become a daily way of life. As Marline likes to say, running is the key to her overall balance. It gives her the energy she needs to lead a full, rich life. Plus, for her, being outdoors and living intensely are an important way to pay tribute to the good fortune of being healthy and alive.
So, naturally, her decision to become a leader in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge was a perfect fit. This year, she’ll be running alongside the au pair she’s taken into her home to help care for her daughters. Together, they’ll challenge themselves outdoors, in one of Québec’s finest running trails!
"I feel honored to participate in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge with Marline, who has welcomed me into her home as part of the Au pair program. It will be a great opportunity for me to get to know her better and discover Québec in an exciting new way." – Alison Brunacci, 18 years old
