FitSpirit is pleased to present this team's leader as part of the 2022 edition of the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge:
Isabelle Laprise
Vice-President, Sustainable Investment Strategy & Institutional Portfolio Manager
Groups are the secret to staying motivated
As a child, Isabelle was active—riding her bike with friends, swimming in the summer, skiing with family and friends in winter— but she was not exactly athletic. Looking back on her teen years, she wishes she had had an organization like FitSpirit to help her discover the benefits of regular physical activity. It was not until early adulthood that this sociable, highly driven woman made sports part of her daily routine. Today, sports are integral to her life, both personally and professionally. Despite her busy schedule, Isabelle stays active, training hard and frequently, enjoying both the physical and the social aspects of sports. Whether she is with friends, family or colleagues, she never misses a chance to get moving, often in new and creative ways. As a mother, Isabelle feels compelled to pass along her love of sports to her kids.
Isabelle knows how much easier it is to stay motivated when you are in a group. She also understands the importance of giving, and regularly supports friends and colleagues who take on sporting challenges in the name of charitable causes. For several years, Isabelle was a member of the organizing committee and Co-Chair of a fundraiser for Sun Life’s JDRF Ride to End Diabetes. In addition, as part of her ongoing commitment to caring and community, she will soon be taking part in the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge with her 14-year-old daughter, Sarah.
"The FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge is important to me because it helps motivate other teen girls and me to get active and stay active." – Sarah
