FitSpirit is pleased to present this team's leader as part of the 2022 edition of the FitSpirit Mother/Daughter Challenge:
Lucie Lazar
Senior Vice-President, Corporate Accounting
Achieving physical and mental balance
Ball games, team sports and active transport were just a few of the ways Lucie stayed active in her childhood and teen years, even though she considers herself more of a sports enthusiast than an athlete. For her, it was all about being part of a group and connecting with others while celebrating the occasional victory.
Early in her professional career, this bright-eyed leader put in many hours at work, which created an imbalance in her life. Then came motherhood and the countless changes it brought to her life made it even harder to maintain a healthy balance.
Today, sports and physical activity have regained their rightful place in Lucie’s life, and she walks, runs, skis or trains on a regular basis. She enjoys that dose of endorphin that comes with sport at least three times a week, and she wishes she could do it more often.
Over the years, this mother of two teenagers has been able to apply her accounting expertise to a number of charitable causes. The FitSpirit mission resonated loudly with Lucie because she firmly believes that regular activity is vital to the physical and mental well-being of everyone, young and old. As such, she is eager to spread the word and encourage more people to maintain their health by being active, no matter what form it takes.
"Physical activity is the key to mental health." – Alicia, 15 years old, Lucie’s daughter
